Abydos Drawings

The white limestone bas relief carvings in the Temple of Seti 1 at Abydos in Upper Egypt are recognised as being of the finest craftsmanship and artistry in the whole of Egypt. The exquisite refinement of line and detail in the reliefs, along with the finely modelled surfaces and compositions, were the inspiration for these drawings. The drawings were created using modelling paste, pencil and pigment.
